Strategy Prototype

This was a personal project prototype I made in the spring of 2015 for hex-grid base building, and some unit production & commanding.
- Simple economy using mines to produce gold, and gold to make units and buildings.
- Instanced hex-grid map, using an image as a source (Alpha channel as height, color as tile type)
- Limit buildings to specific tiles (e.g. mines can only be build on gold tiles)
- Playable over LAN using UE4’s replication system
I stopped working on this a while ago when I would’ve needed to take the time to delve into UE4’s AI systems in order to make substantial progress, and at the time I had too much actual coursework to do to deep delve into both the network replication stuff I was figuring out and AI as well. (Since then I have worked with Unreal’s AI systems in Adventures of Rimori)
